1. How long is the course?
This course has 7 modules, designed as a 7-day course. You will have 3 weeks access to the course content.
2. What time do we meet for the course?
I have created the course format as videos and content for you to do on your own time and schedule.
3. How much time will the modules take every day?
The daily content and exercises will take 5-15 minutes every day. Since you have access to the 7-Day Journey for 3 weeks, it is not a problem if you get busy and miss a day or even several days! To get the most out of this course, you will want to create the time in your schedule to do a daily exercise.
4. Will I get support during the duration of this course?
Yes! You will get support in the members area of the course. You can leave comments and I respond. You can see what others have written and this can add further understanding to the material and exercises.
For even more support, we can arrange a session with a Somatic Experiencing coach to meet with you one-on-one for an additional price.
5. How can I get the most out of this course?
First, you can create space in your schedule before we start this journey together.
Secondly, get a notebook for this course that you will continue to use after this course as you implement the knowledge and tools. You will want to write down your new insights, tools and exercises that are especially helpful for your body, and track shifts that you notice happening in your mood, symptoms and reactions to triggers.
Thirdly, consider either the addition of a somatic coach session or taking the course a second time! There are advanced courses available to you after this course for continued work.
About Your New Somatic Experiencing Coach, Dr. Aimie Apigian
Dr. Aimie is a Board-Certified Preventive Medicine Physician who specializes in trauma, attachment, addictions and optimizing our nervous system. She earned her medical degree at Loma Linda University, has a Masters in Biochemistry, a Masters in Public Health, and then trained 3 years as a general surgeon before changing her career path.
Her experience of adopting a son from the foster care system and then discovering her own attachment and trauma issues as a root cause of her health issues is her motivation for now bringing attachment trauma to medicine and medicine to attachment and trauma.
She has studied under and been a part of Dr. Allan Schore’s Attachment Regulation Theory study group, is a certified Somatic Experiencing practitioner, trained in Internal Family Systems (Parts Work) and Instinctual Trauma Response Model, and continues to attend advanced trainings in Somatic Experiencing with Dr. Peter Levine and most recently, NeuroAffective Touch.
She founded a non-profit in 2011, Family Challenge Camps, a 3-day intensive for families raising children affected by attachment or trauma issues.
She is the founder and CEO of Trauma Healing Accelerated, a health coaching business to empower parents and individuals with practical knowledge and tools for their healing journey.
She runs an addiction detox a center in Southern California and has a concierge medical practice focused on optimizing the nervous system with cutting edge functional medicine and bio-hacking approaches and treatments.
Her most recent growth with her personal health and now career has been the addition of bio-hacking, using cutting edge science and approaches to optimize her nervous system, a term she calls Bio-Optimize, and achieve levels of capacity, resilience, and health she never knew possible
This has been her own journey. Frustrated with the tools, resources, and lack of significant progress first with her son’s healing journey and then her own journey, her mission is now to accelerate the healing journey of others.
She had 6 long years of trying to find solutions for her son, and then when her own body finally gave out, several years and a career change before finding the effective solutions for rewiring the nervous system for optimal physical, mental and emotional health.
She is done with stress, trauma, and attachment insecurities robbing so much of our life, health, and happiness! While it has been difficult forging her own path in bridging the worlds of attachment, trauma, and medicine, she knows this is her purpose and place in this life.
