Course Description

The Home Study Online Continuing Education Credits Course is made up of the 7.5 hours of self-study videos that are a part of the 6-week Advanced Professional Program: Biology of Freeze and Overwhelm Module. This course is intended for professionals working in health care and mental health care settings to help them learn an integrated approach to healing trauma.

Each week, there will be 1 hour to 1.5 hours of self-study videos to watch and study that are included in the Freeze and Overwhelm Module. In total, during the six weeks of the Freeze and Overwhelm Module, there are 7.5 hours of self-study videos. After watching the self study videos each week, you must complete and pass (75% correct to pass) a quiz. All quizzes must be passed in order to receive the CE credits. All the quizzes must be passed by February 22nd, 2024. In total, you will receive 7.5 Continuing Education (CE) credits. The cost for the credits is $150. The CE credits are being offered through the Spiritual Competency Academy (SCA). See below for more details on what professionals can receive CE credits through the SCA.

In the Advanced Professional Program: Biology of Freeze and Overwhelm Module, participants learn to understand the biology that is a result of freeze and overwhelm using an integration of different techniques. They gain the tools to understand the freeze response and what is needed to move into and through the freeze response. This course will teach you how to recognize the nervous system pattern of freeze in a client, assess the severity of regulation of the freeze response in that client, and analyze what chronic symptoms and health conditions may be related to that freeze response. Through this course, you will know how to apply repair tools specifically for the freeze response to bring someone out of the freeze response.

Relevance to Clinical Practice:

Clients will trust that you are not only an expert in your particular field and modalities but you can also identify root causes and patterns underlying their symptoms while knowing how to address them. This training is a game changer that will enhance and accelerate everything you are currently doing in working with clients. Recognizing the freeze response in your clients is essential to accelerating their healing journey, as the freeze response will cause a client to be unresponsive to many traditional therapy techniques.

7.5 CE Credits

Information on Continuing Education Credit for Health Professionals 

• CE credits for psychologists are provided by the Spiritual Competency Academy (SCA) which is co-sponsoring this program. The Spiritual Competency Academy is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Spiritual Competency Academy maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

• The California Board of Behavioral Sciences accepts CE credits for LCSW, LPCC, LEP, and LMFT license renewal for programs offered by approved sponsors of CE by the American Psychological Association.

• LCSW, LPCC, LEP, and LMFTs, and other mental health professionals from states other than California need to check with their state licensing board as to whether or not they accept programs offered by approved sponsors of CE by the American Psychological Association.

• SCA is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN Provider CEP16887) for licensed nurses in California. RNs must retain their certificate of attendance for 4 years after the course concludes.
