About Self-Study and Level 2

The main difference is that when you take the self-study track there will be no live sessions, all material in the module is pre-recorded and you will go through the materials at your own pace.

The self-study track offers you flexibility and the opportunity to finish the course at your own pace and schedule. You are only required to show up during the Implementation Meetings and Final Oral Exam.

You can take as much time as you need to complete the module, but you MUST attend one Implementation meeting and one Final Oral Exam Session in order to receive a Certificate of Completion for the modules.

No. The Implementation Meetings and Final Oral Exam are scheduled and planned accordingly. Please see the schedule for your reference. Attending the Implementation Meetings and Final Oral Exam are required to get a Certificate of Completion.

No. The modules come as they are, as well as the scheduled meetings and Final Oral Exam. We do not give make up meetings for the self-study track. You will have several options for completing the Final Oral Exam and Implementation Meetings before the end of the year.

• You’ll get a Certificate of Completion once you have completed the following requirements:
• Passed with a 75% score or higher on the quizzes associated with each chapter/topic
• Submitted all weekly homework and quizzes
• Attended one of the scheduled Implementation Meetings
• Passed the scheduled Final Oral Exam

We are currently offering five modules for the self-study track – Energy, Brain, Immune, Digestion, and Hormones. We allow students to purchase up to two self-study tracks only.
Please note that the Digestion Module is not available for Self-Study at this time as the content is being redesigned. The Attachment Module is not being offered for Self-Study as there have been changes made and it will be run as a live module in October 2022.

You can purchase until November 13, 2022.

The self-study track is completely self-guided with recordings of all classes and meetings including Q&As. There will be no opportunity for live Q&As. The only live session will be the Implementation Meetings and the Final Oral Exam, both of which are mandatory to get a Certificate of Completion.

1. You missed some modules last year and you want to catch up.
2. You prefer the flexibility of finishing the modules at your own pace.
3. You have a goal of finishing the Level 1 of the modules so you can take Level 2.

Level 1 talks about the basic foundation of each module concept and the integration of personal experience. Meanwhile, Level 2 teaches you how to implement the content and materials you learned from Level 1. In Level 2, you have additional mentor hours, case studies, and handouts to take your work deeper into the Biology of Trauma.

• Level 1 introduces the concepts of the Biology of Trauma model to you with the focus on personal application and experience.
• Level 2 modules revisit the content of each module in more depth with the focus on implementing this into your practice.
• Additional content and flow sheets will be provided that deepen your understanding as well as live implementation through case studies facilitated by those in the Advanced Biology of Trauma™ Professional training.
• Once you successfully complete a module at either level, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. At the completion of the full certification course, you will receive a certificate with the designation of Biology of Trauma™ Certified Professional (Level 1 or Level 2, depending on the level completed) and be eligible to be listed on the Biology of Trauma™ Professionals Directory as such.

After reviewing the layout of the modules and the feedback from the certification course that has been offered thus far in 2022, Dr. Aimie realized that:

• The modules needed to be redesigned to flow better and create a more cohesive path for those looking to understand the Biology of Trauma™ and how to address that for themselves and/or their clients. The modules have been redesigned into 6 modules instead of the original 8 modules that were previously offered. The content of the modules has not changed, however, there is a redesign of the flow of the content to follow the Essential Sequence according to our biology.
• Many professionals in the Biology of Trauma™ Certification course are still struggling with how to integrate the knowledge they have gained from the modules into their work with clients. Level 2 will offer these professionals an opportunity to go more in depth with the materials in the modules, and allow for a greater degree of implementation as well as the opportunity to collaborate and network with other professionals in the Level 2 certification course. Those in the Level 2 certification course will be given direct feedback and support from our Biology of Trauma™ Advanced Professionals, who are directly trained by Dr. Aimie and will be leading implementation groups during the module.

• Anyone who has taken at least one Biology of Trauma™ certification module in 2022. This will help complete the requisite Level 1 modules in order to take Level 2 modules in 2023 (see chart below for which modules are required to be completed at Level 1 before you can take the Level 2 track of the redesigned modules).
• Anyone who has started the Biology of Trauma certification course at the current Level 1 and would like to complete the Level 1 track for certification. (You will complete the final 2 modules in 2023 on the Level 1 track).

Taking a self-study course will allow you to catch up on any modules you may have missed in 2021 and allow you to be prepared for the Level 2 Certification Course in 2023 OR to complete the your Level 1 certification at the current pace of the modules, and be ready for the final 2 modules during 2023.

In the future, it will be required that those in the Biology of Trauma Certification Course complete all of the Level 1 modules before they will be eligible for Level 2. However, in order for those who have already begun the Certification Course to stay on track and join Level 2 in 2023, it is not required to complete all of Level 1 before starting a module at Level 2 at this time. You will need to complete Level 1 of that specific module before advancing to Level 2. Please see the chart below for which modules are required to be completed at Level 1 before taking the redesigned modules at Level 2.

You will receive a Certificate of Completion for each module that you successfully complete at Level 1 or Level 2. Once you complete all the modules at Level 1, you will receive certification as a Level 1 Certified Biology of Trauma™ Professional. Likewise, you must complete all of Level 2 in order to receive certification as a Level 2 Biology of Trauma™ Professional.

We value your time, efforts and contribution to the Biology of Trauma Certification Course this year! For those who complete the 6 current modules in 2022, to complete their Level 1 Certification, the original price for the Certification modules will be honored and they will get the last two modules at Level 1 in 2023 at the current price of $750 (instead of $997)

You may take any of the Redesigned modules if you have completed the requisite modules at Level 1 that corresponds to the Level 2 redesigned module according to the chart below.

Stress Response (Will have to have completed Hormone, Immune, and Brain Modules)
